Meet the Teachers
Three Year-Old Classes
Mrs. Jodie Kelley
Hello, my name is Jodie Kelley and I have had the privilege of being part of Schwarzwald UCC Preschool since 2015.
For over thirty years I have been a Sunday School teacher at Wyomissing UCC in Gouglersville. I also have 13 years of experience as a teacher's assistant for Hilltop Learning Center. I live in Shillington with my husband, Des, and our mini dachshund, Simon. I have two grown children - my son, Patrick and my daughter Kaylyn. I love spending time at Rehoboth Beach with my family, riding bikes and taking long walks.
Together with a team of amazing and creative teachers, I am committed to providing your family with a loving and developmentally sound foundation for a lifetime of learning.
Working with children is something I thoroughly enjoy and I am happy to spend another year learning and growing with the children at Schwarzwald UCC. Thank you for sharing your precious children with us.
Mrs. Kristen Livingood
Hello! My name is Kristen Livingood and I am looking forward to the upcoming year in the three year old classroom. I attended preschool here as a child and I am excited to be here now as an assistant teacher. I am a graduate of Exeter and I earned my Bachelors degree from Albright college. After 10 years of social work I became a stay at home mom for the last 8 years. Watching my children grow up and being involved in their education has been a blessing. I live here in Exeter with my husband Matthew, our three boys (Adam, Samuel & Sean) and our two rescue cats Nala and Gus. I enjoy being outdoors, camping, swimming and bike riding with my family. My kids’ involvement in baseball, football and wrestling also keep me very busy. Cooking and baking on the weekends, and listening to music always put a smile on my face. Schwarzwald is a great place for kids to learn, socialize and have fun!
Pre-Kindergarten MWF and TR Classes
Mrs. Roberta Wagner
I have been teaching at Schwarzwald UCC Preschool since the Fall of 2006. I have worked with preschool-age children for over twenty years. I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from West Chester University. My experience with preschool-age children began when I developed a Preschool through Grade 3 children's choir program. I was a church choir director for 13 years and gave music instruction to choir members ranging in age from two to adults in retirement. I became interested in teaching preschool when my own daughter attended Schwarzwald UCC Preschool. I was very impressed with the Preschool program and the quality of the teachers hired by the Board. When a position became available, I was very pleased to be offered the position. Music will always be a vital part of my life, but teaching preschool has become my new passion. In my spare time I enjoy scrap booking and reading.
Mrs. Donna Noll

I enjoy spending time with my family. I have a daughter, Brandi, who is a graduate of Schwarzwald UCC Preschool and Exeter Senior High School. She is attending York College, studying Nursing, and swims on their Swim team. Also, I have a cat, Macy, and a Shorkie dog, Carly. In my spare time I enjoy swimming, bicycling, doing puzzles, and reading. It is a great joy to work with the children and watch them grow academically, socially and emotionally.
Pre-Kindergarten M-F Class
Ms. Shelby Kenna
Hello! My name is Shelby Kenna, and I love teaching Prekindergarten at Schwarzwald UCC Preschool! I graduated from Millersville University with a degree in Elementary Education, and I have taught here for 13 years.
I live in Exeter Township and attend church at Schwarzwald UCC, in addition to working here. I enjoy traveling, singing in the church choir, reading, walking for exercise, and watching the birds at my feeders! Hummingbirds are my favorite. In my opinion, there is no better job than working with children. Being with children on a daily basis gives me the opportunity to see their growth in every aspect. I am always amazed at how far they grow in the nine months they spend with us! Our preschool is a great place to learn, grow, and play!!
Mrs. Donna Dawson
My name is Donna Dawson. I am the assistant to Shelby Kenna in the Pre-Kindergarten Class that meets five days a week. My experience with children, beside raising my own, was having a child care business in my hometown of Milford, NY for 27-years. I continue to enjoy being with the children, watching them grow and learn. I’ve been with our Preschool for 11 years.
Two afternoons a week, I am the part-time church secretary at St. John’s UCC in Pricetown. I am also an AVON representative and an active member of the Schwarzwald United Church of Christ, participating in both the Guild and Choir. I also head up the snack committee for Vacation Bible School. I love coming up with snack ideas that match the Bible School theme.
I am a twin. My twin and I are identical. Every year we go to Twins Days in Twinsburg, Ohio the first full weekend in August. It’s an annual gathering of over 2,000 sets of multiple births; twins, triples, quads, etc. We have been attending this event since 2008 and each year have a wonderful time.
I enjoy singing, reading, listening to audio-books while traveling to the two churches, sewing, baking, making candy and crocheting. My husband John and I enjoy attending NASCAR races, Reading Fightin' Phils baseball games and Reading Royals ice hockey games.
